The 2009 Ebbies Gala, held this year at the historic Palace Hotel, is a celebration of the San Francisco Bay Area's top entrepreneurs, business and civic leaders, and exemplary corporate citizens. It was attended by almost 1,000 of San Francisco's top-level business leaders as well as key figures in the community such as Mayor Gavin Newsom.
Six categories of awards were presented with multiple finalists in each. Burr, Pilger, Mayer was honored to be presented the 2009 Excellence in Business Ebbie. Past winners of this award include companies such as Wells Fargo, Williams-Sonoma, and Gap Inc.
The award was created in 1991 by the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce to recognize local businesses for their vision and innovation, as well as their determination to contribute to the quality of life in community and for employees. With the world in the midst of a recession, this year's winners are additionally recognized as exceptionally resourceful, finding ways to stay ahead.
